Stirring 'Spell' Kit
This spoon is an invitation toward a moving meditation. A labyrinth is a unicursoral maze combining the circle and the spiral. A symbol of wholeness, a journey to the center of the self and back to the world as a changed being. There is no way to get lost within the labyrinth because it is purposeful in its path. We may pause, but we must eventually continue on to the end of the maze once we have entered into its perimeter.
As you prepare a meal, imagine your spoon is travelling the labyrinth as you stir. Trace the labyrinth without attachment to whether the path is correct. Begin to imagine how you would experience being on this path with your senses. Stir your way, circumnavigating to the center of the design slowly, with intention, imparting this into the dish you are preparing. Pause at the center to take some deep breaths. When you are ready, stir a path that spirals outward to the labyrinth’s opening and exit the meditation into the world centered. If you have stirred in a way that has released something, you may wish to discard your stirrings. If you have stirred in a way that invites something in or offers something up, you may wish to share.
